2021-2022 Studio Policies and Rates

30 Minute Lesson $30

45 Minute Lesson $40

60 Minute Lesson $50

  •    Lessons must be paid for at the FIRST DAY of each month for the entire month. You will be invoiced through your email and cards will be accepted electronically. This is much easier for me to keep up with for tax purposes.

  •  If you are two lessons behind on payments, there will be no more lessons until payment is caught up.

  • I will notify the parent of any music material costs (specifically sheet music) and reimbursements will be dealt with individually. That can be paid with cash, check, or venmo.

  • 12 Hour Notice is required for missed lessons. Without this notice, the lesson will be lost with no refund. I will always do my best to be understanding and flexible with you, but makeup lessons will be limited due to my increase in students.

  •  If, however, I myself cannot attend a lesson due to illness or personal conflict, I will schedule a makeup lesson with you.

  •   If your child is sick and/or missed school due to illness or not feeling well, do not send them to lessons. Please extend this courtesy to me and other students.

  •   If you should arrive early for your scheduled lesson time, please wait until your scheduled time before entering the studio. Each student is entitled to his/her privacy during lessons--please work to extend to one another this very important courtesy. It really throws off a lesson when others walk in during. Thank you for understanding.

 SITTING IN Policy:

  • Please respect the dignity of the studio as a place of learning by following these guidelines:

Parents are welcome to observe lessons a couple times per semester. However, when doing so

  •  Please do not interrupt. Please allow the student and teacher to work together undisturbed and unassisted. I strongly encourage student independence, and therefore do not recommend that parents sit-in and observe the lessons all the time. I have found that this practice prevents distractions between the student and teacher and enables the student to share ideas and be more creative throughout the lesson. For parents of young beginners wishing to observe lessons, I ask that you please observe from the back of the sanctuary.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS

● The student is expected to practice regularly as is appropriate based on the age and ability of each student. Suggested practice schedule will be discussed with teacher.

·        The student is expected to bring all necessary materials (notebook, folder, lesson books, etc.) to each lesson.

● The student is expected to be an active participant in each lesson and have a positive attitude.

● The student is expected to ask questions and let the teacher know when further clarification is needed, allowing the student to be fully engaged in the learning process.

● The student is expected to treat him/herself, instruments, materials, and the teacher with respect.

RECITAL/SHOWCASE POLICY

  • Students are highly encouraged to participate in our showcases and recitals. We generally have 1 or 2 per semester. A large part of what I teach and aim to instill in the students is a love for sharing the talents we are given and overcoming stage nervousness and fear. If there is an issue with performance dates, we will talk on an individual basis to work it out.
